Climate Change and Health Summit – Resilience and Readiness The Lancet Countdown report documents that some existing health threats related to climate change will intensify and new health threats will emerge. Not everyone is equally at risk, and children are especially at risk. Preventive and adaptive actions are needed. Our keynote speaker, Renee N. Salas, MD, MPH, MS, is an emergency medicine physician who co-authored the U.S. portion of the Lancet Countdown report and Health and Care Delivery in the New England Journal of Medicine. A panel of experts (TBD) will present solutions from a variety of other universities who are reducing their carbon footprint in response to the urgent public health need. We will broadcast via BlueJeans to increase engagement. We would especially like to engage the UM Dearborn and Flint campuses.
